Shorebirds are Arriving

It’s been three weeks since we had the training in San Diego and I am very amazed of how much I have been learning since. In the field  I have manage to accurately identify each shorebird with its proper name allowing me and my intern partner, Karina, to efficiently and accurately survey our locations. Recently, we have started to see larger numbers of Black-bellied Plovers. It is truly a beautiful bird and it has become my favorite shorebird. Also, next week Karina and I will be leading a talk about Environment for the Americas in two of my classes at Hartnell College.  One of the classes will be Geology and the other Oceanography. As I continue being part of this internship I continue learning more and more and this is just the beginning and so, far I am really enjoying everything about this internship.
